Are you child-friendly, passionate about reading, and love sharing stories with learners across different age groups? If so, you may be the right fit for our Teacher Library Assistant role available from January 2026, where you’ll play a part in igniting curiosity and inspiring a lifelong love of books.
At St Cyprian’s School, we believe our Library is more than shelves and systems — it’s a place of imagination, discovery, and joy. We are looking for someone who will bring warmth, energy, and creativity to this vibrant space and support our students from Grade 000 through to Grade 12 on their learning journeys.
This position will suit an enthusiastic individual with a love of stories, learning, and the joy of working with young people.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous ECD (Early Childhood Development) experience or a suitable teaching/library qualification.
- A genuine passion for reading, books, and education.
- Child-friendly with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a busy environment.
- Organisational flair, high energy, and a collaborative spirit.
- Willingness to embrace and contribute positively to the school’s transformation journey.

Duties and Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to:
- Support the Head Librarian with the smooth running of the Library.
- Cover, prepare, shelve, issue, and receive books.
- Assist students and staff in finding and using resources.
- Facilitate weekly book education classes with Grades 000–6, fostering excitement about reading and storytelling.
- Help create a welcoming, stimulating space where reading is celebrated.
- Attend and support external library activities and events.
