Full job description

The SHE Officer will form part of the RISA SHE team and function and work closely with the SHE Manager
SSA to ensure that the SHE strategic plans are effectively implemented within the RISA business.
The primary responsibilities of the role are to engage with and support the RISA business in order to establish a positive SHE culture and ensure that effective SHE management systems are in place which protect the safety, health and wellbeing of our colleagues and our customers, minimise the impacts of our activities on the
environment; and comply with legislative, RI and customer SHE requirements.The specific objectives of the role will be aligned to the country and regional SHE strategic and sustainability goals.
- Assist in the management of the accident reporting and investigation procedures
- Help to analyse the results of audits / inspections and accident, incident and work-related ill-health
- statistics periodically to identify any common trends and underlying weaknesses in the SHE
- management systems
- Identify and spread SHE best practice across the business units range of business activities
- Assist the SHE Manager with Registrar, routine and pre placement medicals in line with the
- Occupational Health programme
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
- Time management – to meet clients deadlines.
- High level of honesty and accountability
- The Ability to manage people/team

- Organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Matric Certificate/ Tertiary Qualification
- Ability to complete SHE related Qualifications
- Operational experience within RISA or a similar environment will be advantages – consideration will be give to exceptional candidates in related fields, demonstrating the ability to manage the enforcement of standards and procedures
- Knowledge and experience of ISO standards is desirable
- Full drivers license and being prepared to travel extensively
- Proven ability to present and train
- Knowledge and experience with Fumigation Operations and standards would be desirable
- Computer Literate
- Competencies in line with WL2 requirement
