โWith fresh paint, working toilets, and big smilesโRadha Roopsingh Primary is ready to welcome learners back in style!โ
Radha Roopsingh Primary School recently received a welcome upgrade to its sanitation facilities, thanks to a collaborative effort between the National Debt Counsellors (NDC) and the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Councillor Bulelwa, along with a team of DA councillors.

The renovation project unfolded in two impactful phases. Phase one was spearheaded by the NDC, who stepped in to replace broken toilets and fix critical water leaks. This intervention addressed long-standing issues that had been affecting both learners and staff.

Phase two took place during Mandela Day, a day that honours the legacy of Nelson Mandela through 67 minutes of community service. In this spirit, all DA councillors rolled up their sleeves and joined forces to paint all the newly repaired toilet facilities. Their work has truly transformed the spaces, creating a clean, welcoming environment for the learners.
With the renovations complete, excitement is in the air as learners prepare to return to a school that now boasts beautiful, functional toilet facilities.

Mr. N.V. Zungu, the school principal, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those involved. โWe sincerely thank everyone who came to the rescue of our school,โ he said. โThis project shows the power of partnerships and how stakeholders working together can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children.โ
He added that while the renovations mark a significant milestone, the school still needs additional support. โWe are calling on individuals, businesses, and organisations to continue supporting us. Thereโs still more to be done if we are to take this school to greater heights.โ
This initiative stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when community, government, and civil society unite for the betterment of education and the future of South African children.
