The Toyota Apprenticeship Programme 2026 offers young South Africans an opportunity to gain hands-on technical training in one of the country’s leading automotive manufacturing environments. The programme is based in Durban and focuses on developing skilled artisans in the Millwright and Fitter & Turner trades.

Programme Overview

The Toyota Apprenticeship Programme 2026 provides selected candidates with formal training in either:

1. Millwright Trade

Apprentices will be trained in electrical and mechanical maintenance systems.

2. Fitter & Turner Trade

Apprentices will focus on mechanical fitting, machining, and precision engineering work.

Successful applicants will be appointed in an hourly paid position for the duration of the programme while undergoing structured training and workplace exposure.

Requirements

Millwright Applicants

Candidates must have:

  • NTC3 or Technical Matric with:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Electrical Trade Theory or Mechanical Trade Theory
    • Technical Drawing / Graphical Design
  • Relevant workshop experience will be an added advantage

Fitter & Turner Applicants

Candidates must have:

  • NTC3 or Technical Matric with:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Fitter & Turner Trade Theory
    • Technical Drawing
  • Relevant workshop experience will be advantageous
